For the exhibition, Kara Walker opened her extensive archive of drawings for the first time. In addition to some films, around 650 works were on view, all of which moved within the thematic cosmos of the artist. Racism, sexism and other forms of oppression and violence run through the entire archive, so that a separation of the various themes in the hall texts would not have made sense.

So the co-curator, Katharina Dohm, chose a different path and we decided to write the accompanying texts as individual chapters that visitors could take with them at the entrance to the exhibition and collect in a folder.
